Olive Downs Complex – 3D Renders of Eco Accommodation & Communal Facilities

A set of high-quality 3D renders for a new eco-friendly accommodation concept at Olive Downs, Pembroke. Includes detailed shots of the communal dining, sleeping, and recreation areas—plus walking, hiking, and sports facilities—set against the scenic backdrop of Mt Coxendean.

The Client

Pembroke Resources is building a large eco-accommodation village at the Olive Downs Complex in Central Queensland. Designed to house workers and guests, the site includes modular homes, glamping tents, sports areas, and communal spaces. 3D Walkabout was engaged to create high-quality 3D renders and animations to bring the concept to life and support stakeholder engagement.

The Challenge

Creating a series of high-quality 3D renders for Pembroke’s eco accommodation concept at the Olive Downs Complex came with several challenges. With no official site plans available, the team had to work from hand-drawn sketches, photo references, and evolving feedback to bring the vision to life.

The brief included 6 exterior and 3 interior renders showcasing glamping tents, miners’ accommodation, communal spaces, and the surrounding landscape near Mt Coxendean. The design needed to reflect a high-end, eco-conscious style, while also including key elements like a cricket field, pool, conference centre, and cultural hub.

Strict deadlines, scale accuracy issues, multiple rounds of feedback, and last-minute layout changes added further complexity. Ensuring the final renders were visually strong, culturally appropriate, and technically accurate required a flexible approach and close collaboration across the team.

Our Solution

To bring the Olive Downs eco accommodation concept to life, we developed a detailed set of 3D renders that showcased both the natural landscape and key built features. Working from a mix of sketches, references, and evolving client feedback, we modelled key areas including glamping tents, miners’ housing, communal dining and theatre spaces, sports grounds, and scenic outdoor areas.

We used aerial data and terrain from Mt Coxendean to create a realistic backdrop, adding native vegetation like gum trees, spinnifex, and grass trees to match the real-world setting. For each scene, we adjusted camera angles, lighting, and composition to meet exact client notes—down to the horizon line, reflections, and scale of sporting fields.

Our team delivered 9 exterior and 3 interior renders, refining them in response to multiple feedback rounds. The final visuals captured the relaxed but functional feel of the project while meeting Pembroke’s high standards and tight deadlines.
