The Client

The Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority (MLRA) is an independent organisation in Victoria dedicated to the safe and sustainable rehabilitation of declared mine sites. Working with the community, industry, and government, MLRA oversees rehabilitation plans, provides expert advice, and supports long-term environmental and community benefits.

The Challenge

The MLRA app development has focused on iOS, leaving the Android version outdated, making cross-platform testing difficult. Team members with Android devices lack access to the latest features.

There are also concerns about the aquifer rendering and whether it effectively conveys the geological data. Additionally, discrepancies in the geological modelling, particularly sediment and hard rock formations, need refinement.

These issues are delaying testing, stakeholder feedback, and the overall project timeline. Synchronising iOS and Android updates, improving geological accuracy, and streamlining feedback are key priorities.

Our Solution

To resolve these issues, the MLRA team will prioritise updating the Android version to match iOS, ensuring consistent cross-platform functionality and testing.

For the aquifer rendering and geological modelling, targeted review sessions will be scheduled to refine visuals and improve accuracy. Feedback loops will be streamlined to address concerns efficiently.

By aligning development across both platforms and enhancing geological representation, the project can progress smoothly, minimising delays and improving stakeholder confidence.

Update the Android version to align with iOS for consistent testing and functionality

Streamline feedback loops to address concerns quickly and efficiently

Refine aquifer rendering through targeted reviews to enhance clarity and accuracy

Ensure synchronisation between iOS and Android updates to prevent delays

Improve geological modelling to better represent real-world formations

Enhance stakeholder communication to keep all parties informed and aligned
