Cairns Regional Council: 3D Animation of Iconic Cultural Venues

This 3D animation showcases CPAC, Munro Martin Parklands, Tanks Arts Centre, and the Court House Gallery with aerial flyovers, photorealistic renders, and virtual tours

The Client

Cairns Regional Council is dedicated to enhancing the city’s cultural and artistic landscape through world-class venues like the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Munro Martin Parklands, the Tanks Arts Centre, and the Court House Gallery. The council aims to create immersive and engaging digital experiences that allow locals and visitors to explore and appreciate these cultural spaces in an innovative way.

The Challenge

Creating an engaging and cohesive digital representation of Cairns Regional Council’s cultural venues presented several challenges. The project required accurately showcasing multiple spaces, including the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Munro Martin Parklands, the Tanks Arts Centre, and the Court House Gallery, while ensuring the final visual content aligned with stakeholder expectations.

Frequent iterations and refinements were necessary to balance aesthetics with usability, including adjusting venue labels, optimizing transitions, and refining motion to enhance viewer experience. Additionally, integrating various digital assets and ensuring compatibility with existing council platforms required meticulous coordination. Maintaining consistency in branding, resolving feedback efficiently, and ensuring the final production met the required level of realism and immersion added further complexity to the project.

Our Solution

To address these challenges, we implemented a structured and iterative approach to refine the digital representation of Cairns Regional Council’s cultural venues. Our team created high-quality 3D visualizations and virtual tours, ensuring that each venue was accurately represented with seamless navigation and engaging visuals.

We collaborated closely with stakeholders, incorporating their feedback throughout multiple revision cycles to fine-tune venue titles, optimize video pacing, and enhance user experience. To maintain consistency across platforms, we provided an integrated tour link that consolidated all venues into a single, easy-to-access digital experience. Additionally, strategic adjustments to camera angles, transitions, and motion ensured a visually appealing and user-friendly final product that met the client’s expectations.
