The Client

The City of Swan is a local government in Western Australia committed to supporting active communities. Its Ellenbrook Sports Hub is a major recreational development offering modern facilities for sport, fitness, and social connection.

 

The Challenge

The City of Swan needed a clear and engaging 3D animation to showcase the upgrades to the Ellenbrook Sports Centre, especially the new gym and warm water pool. The aim was to help stakeholders and the community visualise the design before construction. One challenge was making sure the walkthrough felt realistic and flowed smoothly from outside to inside.

The project involved many detailed updates, like changes to ceilings, lighting, signage, and people placement. Every part had to match the design plans and be refined through rounds of feedback. The animation also needed to avoid issues like flickering lights, misplaced objects, and character glitches. Creating a single, smooth camera path through the site required precise planning and teamwork. In the end, the goal was to deliver a polished, easy-to-follow animation that showed off the centre’s key features in the best light.

Our Solution

To bring the Ellenbrook Sports Centre to life, we created a high-quality 3D animation that combined smooth aerial flyovers with detailed interior walk-throughs. Our team worked closely with the client, adjusting camera paths, materials, lighting, and layout based on ongoing feedback.

We refined key areas like the gym and warm water pool, adding realistic finishes, updated signage, and animated people to reflect real-life use. Landscaping and tree placement were carefully matched to site plans, and camera movements were timed to highlight every important feature. Multiple preview versions were shared and fine-tuned to fix visual issues and improve flow. The final result was a clear, engaging animation that helped the client showcase the centre’s design with confidence and clarity.

With over a decade of experience in AutoCAD and Revit, Nick brings both technical precision and practical on-site expertise to every project. Before joining 3D Walkabout, Nick worked with leading firms such as Realserve, Aqualogical, and Enduraclad, where he honed his skills in 3D scanning, hydraulic and fire system drafting, and CNC programming.
