Manstation-A Stylish, Smart Toilet Visualised in Photorealistic Detail

3D animation for Manstation’s smart toilet unit, showcasing hands-free hygiene and sleek, modern functionality.

The Client

Manstation is an Australian manufacturer of smart, touchless toilet units designed for high-traffic public and commercial spaces. Their products combine advanced sensor technology with sleek design to deliver fully hands-free hygiene solutions for environments like airports, shopping centres, and office buildings.

The Challenge

Manstation approached us to bring their cutting-edge toilet unit to life through a compelling 3D product animation. The unit was built with innovation at its core, prioritising touch-free use, seamless automation, and a sleek, modern design that would stand out in both commercial and premium environments.

However, early in the project, we hit a technical roadblock. The CAD files supplied didn’t include all the intricate mechanical movements or sensor-based features that defined the product’s unique value. Without these components, we couldn’t accurately animate how the system operated in real-life use. This created a challenge not only in maintaining the realism of the animation, but also in meeting the client’s expectations within the desired timeframe.

Our Solution

To keep the project moving while ensuring visual accuracy, our team took a collaborative approach. We worked closely with the client to identify the core functions that needed to be represented, such as lid automation, motion-triggered flushing, and integrated lighting. Where mechanical data was missing, we reconstructed key components based on reference images, technical descriptions, and client guidance.

By combining our in-house 3D expertise with iterative feedback sessions, we were able to simulate realistic movements and interactions that aligned with the product’s intended use. This approach not only preserved the integrity of the design, but also allowed us to deliver a polished, functional animation that effectively communicated the smart features of the Manstation unit, without compromising on detail or delivery time.

Collaborated closely with the client to clarify key functions and movement sequences that needed to be showcased

Delivered a high-quality animation that accurately reflected the product’s smart capabilities—on time and within scope

Simulated motion-based features such as lid automation and sensor-triggered functions with custom rigging

Developed placeholder animations for approval before final detailing, speeding up the review process

Maintained regular feedback loops to align visual execution with the client’s vision and technical expectations

Used reference images and product descriptions to reconstruct missing mechanical elements in 3D
