The Client
Austrack Campers is an Australian company specialising in off-road camper trailers and hybrid caravans. Known for their rugged designs and reliable builds, they provide adventure-ready camping solutions for travellers exploring Australia’s toughest terrains.
The Challenge
A client required 3D virtual tours for 19 caravans along with a central showroom space, all to be captured in a single visit. This was a unique request, as caravans had not previously been scanned, and it required adapting the Matterport process to suit smaller, mobile spaces while keeping quality consistent across every tour.
The project needed careful planning to manage the scale, 20 separate digital spaces in total, with each caravan requiring its own tags and hosting setup. Accuracy, efficiency, and clear organisation were critical to ensure the large volume of tours could be delivered smoothly while keeping the process straightforward for the client.
Our Solution
The 3D Walkabout team carried out the full scan of all 19 caravans plus the central showroom in a single on-site visit. Using the Matterport platform, each caravan was captured individually to create a dedicated virtual tour, ensuring a consistent experience across all models.
To enhance usability, up to five tags were added per caravan with links, imagery, or video provided by the client. The showroom tour was set up as the central hub, with links at each caravan entrance directing visitors to the corresponding model’s virtual tour. All 20 spaces were delivered with the first year of hosting included, giving the client a ready-to-use library of interactive tours that could be easily embedded into their website for sales and marketing.
