Project Overview

3D Walkabout was engaged by Blueprint Homes in Perth to produce a large-scale visualisation package across 105 residential home designs. The goal was to give the Blueprint Homes team practical, presentation-ready material that could show potential clients what the interiors, layouts and exteriors of their homes would look like before construction began.

The final output included 3D floor plans and exterior renders for use by Blueprint Homes internally with their design and drafting team during design pre-meetings, as well as for communicating home designs more clearly to potential clients.

The Challenge

The project required a high volume of renders to be produced within a compressed delivery window. Blueprint Homes provided only the floor plan and elevation drawings, which meant the full interior fit-out, furniture, styling, finishes and visual presentation had to be interpreted and built by 3D Walkabout.
The unique challenge was scale and speed: all 105 homes were completed within one month, with approximately four homes delivered per day.

Our Solution

3D Walkabout developed an efficient workflow built around a dedicated production team of three modellers and one renderer working in D5 Render. The process allowed several homes to move through modelling, interior fit-out, scene setup and rendering at the same time.

Because the client supplied only floor plans and elevations, our modelling and rendering team created the internal presentation environments from scratch, including furniture layouts, styling, decor, lighting, finishes and spatial details.
