Elleston Bendigo | Bringing a New Residential Community to Life

A comprehensive suite of 3D visualisation content showcasing Elleston’s homes, landscaped streets, communal spaces and interiors before construction is complete.

The Client

Tetris Capital is an Australian investment and development company involved in the delivery of major property and infrastructure projects. For the Elleston development in Bendigo, Victoria, we worked closely with the project team to create a comprehensive suite of 3D visualisation content showcasing the proposed community, its homes and shared amenities.
 
Elleston is a new residential community designed around contemporary homes, landscaped streets and communal facilities, providing prospective residents with a clear vision of the lifestyle and environment being created.

The Challenge

With Elleston still under development, the challenge was to communicate what the completed community would ultimately look and feel like before prospective residents could experience it for themselves.
 
The project incorporated multiple house types and a broad selection of exterior and interior design themes. Exterior palettes included Light, Neutral, Earthy and Dark, while interior options included Retreat, Haven, Serene and Sable. These variations needed to be represented throughout the development in a natural way while maintaining a cohesive overall architectural character.
 
Beyond the individual residences, it was also important to communicate the wider master plan, including the streetscape, landscaping, clubhouse and surrounding Bendigo environment.
 
The visualisation content needed to complement a separate lifestyle film being produced using live-action footage. While the lifestyle production focused on people and the experience of living within the community, our role was to provide the technical architectural visualisation required to show prospective residents what was actually planned to be built.

Our Solution

Working from the supplied master plans, architectural drawings and elevations, we recreated the Elleston development in 3D using SketchUp and D5 Render.
 
Individual residences were developed with their various architectural and material themes and distributed throughout the streetscape to create a believable representation of the completed community. Landscaping and vegetation were then introduced throughout the development to bring the master plan to life and establish the character of the proposed streets and public spaces.
 
We also reconstructed the community clubhouse from architectural plans and elevations, along with the surrounding road network and other key elements of the master plan.
 
To provide greater context beyond the development boundary, we incorporated Cesium’s real-world geospatial data within D5 Render. The quality of the available surrounding data allowed us to integrate the proposed development into a recognisable representation of its broader Bendigo setting rather than presenting it as an isolated architectural model.
 
From this environment, we produced a series of architectural still renders and an animation showcasing the completed development, including the distribution of homes, landscaping, streets and communal amenities.
 
We also created interactive virtual tours for two of the available house types. These allowed prospective residents to step inside the homes and explore the proposed interiors in much greater detail, providing a more intimate understanding of the layouts, finishes and overall living experience.
 
Together with the accompanying live-action lifestyle film produced by another agency, the final suite of content combined aspirational storytelling with detailed architectural visualisation — helping communicate both the lifestyle Elleston aims to offer and a clear picture of the community that will ultimately be built.
