Boomaroo Nurseries – 360° Virtual Tour of Horticulture Facility

A 360° virtual tour of Boomaroo Nurseries in Southbrook, QLD, combining drone and ground panoramas with interactive navigation, hotspot markers, and branded 3DVista design for a detailed, mobile-friendly walkthrough of key nursery areas.

The Client

Boomaroo Nurseries is a leading Australian wholesale supplier of premium vegetable seedlings, potted herbs, and flowering plants. With advanced facilities in Victoria and Queensland, Boomaroo supports commercial growers and retailers with high-quality, innovative horticultural solutions across the country.

 

The Challenge

Boomaroo Nurseries needed a fully interactive 360° virtual tour to showcase their large horticultural facility in Southbrook, Queensland. The aim was to map the layout of the site using both ground and aerial views, giving visitors and stakeholders an easy way to explore key areas online. A major challenge was the volume and complexity of content—17 aerial drone panoramas and multiple ground-level 360° images had to be stitched, colour corrected, and integrated into a seamless experience.

The tour also needed to match previous branding work done for other clients, using a specific 3DVista skin, icon styles, and navigational layout. On top of that, it had to be mobile-friendly, with consistent design across desktop and mobile views. Client requests evolved throughout the project—including changes to icons, hotspot connections, map views, and logo updates. Keeping up with the many detailed edits while ensuring visual consistency, interactivity, and performance made this a technically demanding and highly collaborative build.

Our Solution

3D Walkabout built the virtual tour using 3DVista, combining high-resolution aerial and ground-level panoramas into one smooth and interactive experience. All 17 aerial drone shots were stitched and colour corrected, while tripod removal and adjustments were made to the ground-level images. Hotspot markers were added to allow users to move easily between ground and aerial views, with the drone views set to load in the correct direction and aligned with the facility’s layout.

We used a custom 3DVista skin and followed previous branding examples to ensure a familiar and professional look. Icons and colours were updated to match Boomaroo’s green brand palette, and the default map was set to satellite view. Feedback from the client was applied across several rounds, including updates to icons, pano positions, logos, and labelling key areas of interest. We also ensured full mobile compatibility and provided packaged project files and backups for client use and hosting.
