LMS Energy – Updated 3D Virtual Tour of Wollert Power Station

 This updated tour of LMS Energy’s Wollert site features high-quality ground panoramas, seamless drone-ground transitions, and improved visual accuracy.

The Client

LMS Energy is Australia’s leading bioenergy and emissions reduction company, specialising in transforming landfill gas into renewable electricity. With over 40 operational sites across the country, LMS is committed to delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions that support Australia’s low-carbon future.

The Challenge

LMS Energy needed to update the virtual tour of its Wollert Power Station by replacing 38 ground-level panoramas with higher-quality versions. The main goal was to improve visual accuracy and image quality while keeping the original tour layout, including menus, hotspots, and navigation links.

One of the key challenges was making sure the new panoramas blended seamlessly with the existing drone footage, so the tour remained smooth and easy to follow. It was also important to preserve all links to external site views and other tour features, ensuring that nothing was lost during the update. The project required careful coordination to reshoot images on-site, manage tour structure in 3D Vista, and deliver a final product that was both immersive and future-ready.

Our Solution

Our team reshot 38 ground-level panoramas using updated camera gear to improve image quality and visual clarity. These new images were carefully matched with the existing tour structure to ensure all original menus, hotspot markers, and navigation paths remained in place.

We used 3D Vista to integrate the updated panoramas, making sure the transitions between drone and ground views stayed smooth and consistent. Special attention was given to aligning external site links and maintaining the overall flow of the virtual tour. The final result was a cleaner, more detailed experience that felt fresh without changing the familiar layout. We delivered both a fully hostable version for web use and a complete backup project file for future updates or edits.

FACT FILE: Christopher is a 3D Scanning Operator at 3D Walkabout, based in Sydney, with a diverse professional background spanning graphic arts, printing, and immersive 3D media. As the former owner and operator of Clear Immersive Technology and Media, he pioneered 3D scanning and virtual tour solutions using Matterport and drone technologies, helping clients visualise and manage projects remotely during the COVID-19 era. With extensive experience in client management, workflow optimisation, and quality assurance, Christopher brings a detail-oriented and process-driven approach to every project.
