The Challenge

RKM Roller Company required a 3D animation to clearly demonstrate its conveyor and roller systems; however, translating complex mechanical processes into a clean, visual format proved challenging.

There were limited existing references for conveyor-based animations, requiring the team to develop the visual direction from scratch. At the same time, detailed technical information had to be accurately interpreted and rebuilt into a 3D environment. Balancing engineering precision with clear, engaging visuals was critical, ensuring the final animation was both technically accurate and easy to understand.

Our Solution

3D Walkabout developed a custom 3D animation approach tailored to RKM Roller Company’s conveyor systems, starting with building accurate 3D models based on the provided technical inputs. With limited visual references available, the team established a clear animation direction early, focusing on clean sequencing, controlled camera movement, and step-by-step system breakdowns to improve clarity.

Each component was carefully animated to show how the system operates in motion, ensuring both mechanical accuracy and visual simplicity. Lighting, materials, and motion were refined to achieve a realistic, high-quality finish suitable for presentations and marketing use.
